Vicryl Rapide Sutures
Coated Vicryl Rapide (polyglactin 910) Sutures are synthetic absorbable sterile surgical sutures composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. Although this suture is a synthetic absorbable suture, its performance characteristics are intended to model the performance of a collagen (surgical gut) suture. It has a tensile strength that is initially greater than Chromic Gut and sutures begin to fall out after 7 - 10 days, with total absorption after 42 days.
