BD Vacutainer Blood Collection Tubes with Gold Hemogard Closures for serum determinations. These plastic tubes are silicone coated with a polymer gel for serum separation. Each comes with a Hemogard Closure recessed within the tube and covered by a plastic shield to help protect laboratory personnel from contact with blood on the stopper or around the outer rim of the tube. The BD Hemogard tube closure also helps prevent blood from splattering when the tube is opened.
The BD Vacutainer Blood Collection Tube with Gold closure may be used for routine blood donor screening and diagnostic testing of serum for infectious disease.
